This was my first acting experience for a short film ‘Krandan’, I was ten years old then. Since this movie was on child abuse, the prominent emotions I had to emote was more of fear, insecurity and victim of abuse. This movie was shortlisted and screened at Bangalore Short Film Festival and was also shortlisted to be screened at the Goa International Film Festival.

My Role
I played the role of the child who was abused by an elder in his family. Since this movie was on child abuse, the prominent emotions I had to emote was more of fear, insecurity and victim of abuse.
My Experience
I was ten years old during this movie. As much as I enjoyed enacting the role of this abused child and the attention I received playing the main character, I was annoyed at times as I was asked to get the same expression again and again for some of the scenes. Besides, these 'again-and-again' was eating into my playtime. I could see my friends running and playing and here I was trying to feel fearful, insecured and in tears.... this was very difficult for me then. In fact, for some of the scenes, we had to do a reshoot after more than a week and it was really difficult for me to remember my emotions and get the same expressions. I was not able to understand the need of doing these re-shoots at that time, but now I can understand what is meant by continuity and the value of getting the shoot and reshoot right.
